How to Get to Grand Lift of Rold: Elden Ring (Walkthrough)

1. Reach Leyndell, Royal Capital

The first step in getting to the Rold Route is to reach Leyndell, the Royal Capital.

In Leyndell, you will acquire map fragments for the area that will be crucial to locating the Grand Lift of Rold, beat some bosses, and acquire valuable weapons and armor for your journey.

Once you have the map fragment, you will want to go to the Site of Grace located in the Avenue Balcony area:

From there, you will want to head North East along the road and you will be able to get through the door now that you’ve defeated Morgott at the Elden Thrones.

Continue down the road and open the giant double doors. Once you go through the door, run past the enemies and continue up the stairs.

Once up the stairs, continue on the path and there will be an elevator lever on the left:

Take the elevator up, follow the path and go up the stairs. Keep going down the path and you will end up in the Capital Outskirts.

Continue straight either choosing to fight the enemies or just run away.

You will reach the lift that will take you down to the Forgotten Lands.

2. Reach the Forbidden Lands to Access the Rold Lift

Once in the Forbidden Lands, grab the Site of Grace.

It’s time to mount up on your horse because it’s a long path to cross to get to the Grand Lift of Rold.

Follow the path until you reach a point where it starts to narrow out. It can be easy to get lost here because of the fog.

Once you reach the narrow path, there are a couple of jumps you will have to do:

Once you make the jump, continue heading down the road North, North East.

On your path you will encounter two enemies — Night’s Cavalry and the Black Blade Kindred.

When you encounter Black Blade Kindred, you can choose to fight him which will give you a nice weapon, or you can choose to run straight ahead and reach the Site of Grace which is inside the large building which houses the Grand Lift of Rold:

3. Using the Rold Medallion

Once you grab the Site of Grace, run up the stairs and you will reach the Grand Lift of Rold.

Stand in the circle and you will be able to Hoist your Medallion.

If you happen to have the two Haligree medallion halves, you will be able to use them here to head to the Snow Area that will take you to the Haligtree which will take you to Malenia.

If not, then you can just use the Rold Medallion which you should have received from killing Morgott.

Hoist your medallion and it will take you right into the Mountaintop of Giants, so you can go to the next part, kill the Fire Giant, and burn away the thorns so you finally have access to the Erdtree:
